ARE WE?
WE ARE SMART ROOMS COMPANY, WITH HEADQUARTERS IN BARCELONA, EXPERTS IN CONCEPTUALIZING AND CREATING EXCEPTIONAL PLACES FOR LIVING ONE-OF-A-KIND EXPERIENCES.
We always bet on continuous innovation, as well as on a special care for the design of our spaces and of today’s clients’ needs. We like bending the rules a little bit and doing things in an unconventional manner.
Seven years ago, us, three friends with experience in the real estate and hotel businesses, created Smart Rooms Company. We imagined a fun company, with family values, and which offered a smart accommodation solution for the 21st century. With this idea, hotels, hostels, and student housing facilities, in which the design and service are fundamental pillars, are born.
Later, we fell in love with Colombia. We believe this country is amazing, with a great potential for tourists who want to travel not only to visit a place, but rather to really experience it and connect with its culture. That’s why we decided to keep expanding our story here, with the creation of hostels and student housing.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
The front desk is open 24 hours. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 12:00 p.m.
Is there a late check-out option?
It will be subject to availability and at a cost that is established according to the fee.
What documents do I need during check-in?
Your ID and a credit or debit card.
What are the opening times for the Spotty bar?
Sunday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, and Holiday eves from 6 a.m. until midnight.

Are animals allowed?
Unfortunately, we are still not pet-friendly.
Is Spotty suitable for children?
Children are welcome to our private rooms.
Are there rooms for people with disability?
Yes. Our hostel is accessible for people with disability.
Are dorms mixed?
Some of them are mixed. However, there are female-only dorms.
Does the price include bed linen and towels?
Yes!
Can I store my luggage for a couple of days?
Yes. You can relax, we won’t charge you extra.
Do you offer the transportation service to the airport?
The front desk staff can help you find transportation. However, this is not included in the booking fee.
Is breakfast included?
It depends on the fee you have booked.
Do you offer food?
Yes, on floor 17 you can find breakfast and dinner.
Can I cook my own meals?
Yes, in the cooking lounge or in the room kitchen (only in the rooms that have a private kitchen).
Is there a laundry service?
Yes, it’s self-service and you will have to pay an additional fee.
What toiletries are included in the price?
Towels, soap, and shampoo.
Does the WiFi work properly?
It works perfectly.
Are there smoking areas?
Due to health department policies, we don’t have specific smoking areas.
Can I add an extra bed to my private room?
No, our rooms have a perfect layout for the space.
Can I make a group booking?
Yes, you can do that here.
If I book beds with my friends, can we stay in the same room?
We want you to be as comfortable as possible, so let us know upon booking and we will do everything we can to accommodate you together.
Where can I go if I need a place to work?
At Spotty hostels you have a coworking space on the seventh floor at your disposal. Or you can also go to the common terraces, if you want to be a bit more relaxed.
Are there lockers in the room?
Yes, there is one for every bed in the room, they are free and work with a key.
Can I buy a travel adapter?
Yes, in the market at the lobby you will find this and other articles you might have forgotten (we know that toothbrushes are very elusive).
How far in advance should I cancel my booking to avoid being charged?
At least 24 hours.

Do the published prices include taxes?
No, since some guests have to pay taxes and others don’t.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.
Can I pay for a one-day guest pass?
No, we want you to stay with us for more than a day.
Can I make a booking without a credit or debit card?
No, you will always need a debit or credit card to make a booking. However, you can pay in cash.
Can I make a booking for someone else using my credit or debit card?
Yes. The person must bring an authorization of the payment with your credit card, signed by you, a copy of the credit card, front and back, and a copy of the credit card owner’s ID.
Are there fees for events inside the hostel?
Yes, the fee will depend on the event.
Are there activities within or outside the hostel? Where can I make reservations to participate?

How do I reach Spotty Hostels using public transportation?
Taking the Transmilenio to the ‘Universidades’ station.
How much is a taxi from the airport to the hostel?
The taxi costs between 25.000 and 30.000 Colombian pesos.
Is there security 24/7?
Yes.
What is there to do in downtown Bogota?

Can I bring friends into my room?
Yes, as long as you are staying in a private room.
Are the hostel terraces for hostel guests only?
Only the terrace on the fifth floor and the Spotty bar will be open to the public.
